There should be a small circular 'plug' maybe 6' in diameter on your engine hatch. After you unscrew it you should be able to reach in under the hatch and feel the shaft of the lifting ram where it attaches to your engine hatch. There is a pin that you have to pull to disconnect it. It's not easy, but can be done.
Once the pin is pulled the hatch can be lifted by hand from the handle. It's heavy though.
